Study Support Scholarships

For students from India, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Myanmar, Philippines

La Trobe College Australia is offering our students from across South Asia (India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka) and Indochina (Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Philippines) a Study Support Scholarship to the value of AUD$4,000. This consists of an AUD$500 discount per unit of study for each unit across a Diploma program.

Foundation Studies students from across Indochina are eligible for a Study Support Scholarship up to the value of AUD$2,000.

Study Support Scholarships

For students from Vietnam

Students from across Vietnam are eligible for a 20% Excellence Scholarship which will be credited towards their entire Diploma program.

Foundation students are eligible for a Study Support Scholarship up to the value of $AUD2,000.

Excellence Scholarship – Vietnam up to 50%

Students from across Vietnam are eligible for a 50% Excellence Scholarship which will be credited towards their entire Diploma program. This is based on academic background and a limited number of places applies.

Study Support Scholarships

Onshore International

Onshore Study Support Grant

Our international onshore Melbourne students are eligible for a study grant to the value of AUD$4,000. This consists of a AUD$500 discount per unit of study for each unit across a Diploma program.

Foundation students are eligible for a Study Support Grant up to the value of AUD$2,000.

Navitas Family Bursaries

Equivalent to 10% of the tuition fee for up to 8 units

The bursary is equivalent to 10% of the tuition fee for up to 8 units of study within one program only with a Navitas member institution. The bursary does not apply to additional units or repeat units that may also be undertaken and excludes mixed English options.

  • Family Bursary applies where two or more students from the same family study at a Navitas institution.
  • The first family member can be studying at a Navitas institution at the same time as the other family members or may have studied at any Navitas institution previously.
  • The family bursary is granted to the second and subsequent family members who study at a Navitas institution.
  • Not have previously received a Navitas scholarship or bursary, or had a scholarship or bursary from Navitas withdrawn.

For the purpose of this bursary, a family member is defined as a husband, wife, brother, sister, mother, father, son, daughter or stepchild.

Conditions
  • Successful recipients will not receive any money from the Navitas member institution. The value of the bursary will be recorded on the student's account each semester of study.
  • The bursary does not apply to additional units or repeat units that may also be undertaken.
  • Navitas bursary is not applicable to English language program or any component of any English language program offered by Navitas member institutions.

The Navitas bursary applies to students studying at BCUIC, Curtin College, Curtin Singapore, CRIC, Deakin College, EIBT, EIC, Eynesbury, FIC, Griffith College, HIC, ICM, ICP, ICRGU, ICWS, La Trobe College Australia, LBIC, NIC, PUIC, PIBT, SAIBT, SIBT, Navitas at FAU, Navitas at UMass Boston, Navitas at UMass Dartmouth, Navitas at UMass Lowell, Navitas at UNH, UC College, UCIC, UNIC, Western Sydney University International College, and Western Sydney University – Sydney City Campus

Complete and submit this bursary application form to the Navitas institution along with supporting documents, such as birth certificate, or family card.

Navitas Academic Merit Scholarships

Awarded for outstanding academic results

The Navitas Academic Merit Scholarship is awarded each semester to the most outstanding results from two students across many programs at a Navitas Pathway College or Managed Campus.

These scholarships are for one academic semester or part thereof (equivalent to the maximum of up to five academic subjects) for a Navitas Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree (Australia), UTP Stage II or Associate Degree (Canada), UPP or IUTP (USA) or Undergraduate pathway program (UK) at a Navitas college or one academic semester of foundation or undergraduate study at La Trobe University Sydney Campus, Curtin Singapore or Macquarie City Campus or one academic semester of a Master's program at Curtin Singapore or Macquarie City Campus.

Any additional costs, including travel or material such as books or equipment required as part of the program will be the recipient's responsibility. For programs that articulate directly into a university degree program, the scholarship will cover only the Navitas member institute components of the program for the semester.

Applicants must:

  • Be continuing (current) student, enrolled and studying towards a Navitas Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree (Australia), UTP Stage II or Associate Degree (Canada), UPP or IUTP (USA), Undergraduate pathway program (UK), University Foundation or Bachelor Degree program (Australia) or Master's programs (Australia);
  • Be currently studying full-time;
  • Have achieved competencies in all courses across their current program (for which the scholarship is applied for) in the semester prior to being eligible for the scholarship;
  • Not have any outstanding fees on their student account;
  • Not have previously received a Navitas scholarship or bursary, or had a scholarship or bursary from Navitas withdrawn.

  • The scholarship applies to the second semester of enrolment only or the final semester of study for an undergraduate/postgraduate program. Students are liable to pay for any additional courses / subjects undertaken.
  • Successful recipients will not receive any money from the Navitas member institution. The value of the scholarship will be recorded on the student's account during their second semester of study or their final semester of study for an undergraduate/postgraduate program.
  • Scholarship recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress through their second semester of study or final semester of study for undergraduate/postgraduate programs to retain their scholarship.
  • Scholarships are not transferable to other students or Navitas member institutes in any circumstances.
  • Navitas member institutions reserve the right not to award all or some of the scholarships in a given year.
  • Scholarships cannot be backdated.

Two scholarships are awarded each semester.

Selection will be based on:

  • Academic results (GPA) from their previous semester of study. Should two students have identical academic results, the scholarship panel will refer back to marks awarded within each subject/course to ascertain the scholarship recipient.
  • Additional factors such as educational disadvantage, membership of a specific equity group and/or significantly adverse personal circumstances may be taken into account where the scholarship panel must differentiate between equally qualified applicants.
  • Outcome of scheduled interview (if required)

The scholarship panel from each Navitas member institution will announce the recipients of the Navitas academic merit scholarship upon the completion of each semester and the release of the results. The recipients will be notified by mail and the successful students posted on the college/campus website.

This Navitas scholarship is offered to students studying at BCUIC, Curtin College, Curtin Singapore, CRIC, EIBT, EIC, Eynesbury, FIC, HIC, ICM, ICP, ICRGU, ICWS, La Trobe College Australia, LBIC, Macquarie City Campus, MIBT, MIBT Indonesia, PUIC, PIBT, QIBT, SAIBT, SIBT, Navitas at FAU, Navitas at UMass Boston, Navitas at UMass Dartmouth, Navitas at UMass Lowell, Navitas at WKU and Navitas at UNH only.

Students are not required to apply for the scholarship as it is awarded based on academic performance and ALL students are eligible.

La Trobe Region-Specific International Scholarships

Scholarships are available for students from a range of nationalities

Region-specific International Scholarships are available to students from a range of regions, including China, Hong Kong, Macau, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Jordan, Turkey or any region in Latin America.

Upon completion of your Foundation Studies or Diploma course with a WAM of 55, 70 or 75, you may be eligible to receive 20% 25% or 30% fee reduction for the duration of your Bachelor’s degree at La Trobe University.

There is no application required. Upon successful completion of the Foundation Studies or Diploma pathway course, all international students are automatically assessed for the scholarship.

Recipients must be full fee-paying international students and must meet the University’s academic and English language entry requirements at the commencement date of their course.

The scholarship is valid for Foundation and Diploma students transferring into the La Trobe Bachelor up to the end of 2022.

PVS - Pathway to Victoria Scholarship

A$2,500 scholarship for international students

This A$2,500 scholarship for international students has been made possible by funding from the Victorian Government through Study Melbourne.

It is offered to new commencing offshore students in our Trimester 3 intake in October as well as future intakes in 2022.

We consider you an international student if you are:

  • a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand
  • not a humanitarian or other permanent visa holder
  • a temporary visa holder.

  • This scholarship is only available for full-time study. A minimum number of 2-unit enrolment required in the first trimester for the Foundation Studies or Diploma Program
  • The scholarship will be applied after the census date of your first trimester of study at La Trobe College Australia if you are commencing with a Foundation or a Diploma program.
  • The scholarship will be applied upfront if you are commencing with ELICOS packaged with a degree course. A one-off amount of A$2 500 will be awarded as a deduction from the tuition fees of your first pathway program.
  • This scholarship is only valid for commencement in the course and semester determined in your Letter of Offer.
  • This scholarship will not be valid if you defer the commencement of your course to a study period later than the period of commencement detailed in your letter of offer.
  • This scholarship is offered for students to commence an undergraduate or postgraduate program at La Trobe University immediately after completing their pathway course(s) at La Trobe College Australia (LTCA).
  • This scholarship is not transferable.
  • This scholarship is non-refundable. If your enrolment is cancelled or you withdraw or otherwise terminate your enrolment, the scholarship funds will be returned to La Trobe College Australia.
  • If you are unable to progress to the La Trobe University course, you may have to repay the scholarship back to La Trobe College Australia. If you withdraw from the program due to compassionate and compelling circumstances, scholarship repayment may not be required.
  • The above terms and conditions may be updated during the period of your study. If this occurs, you will be notified of any changes via your La Trobe email.
  • By accepting this scholarship, you agree to be involved in marketing and recruitment activities during your time as a student at La Trobe University. The Pathway to Victoria Scholarship Program has been made possible by funding from the Victorian Government through Study Melbourne. As a scholarship recipient, you may be required to participate in promotional activities in keeping with the spirit of the scholarship requested by La Trobe College Australia and La Trobe University. Accepting & securing a Scholarship

Scholarship places are limited and awarded to students in order of offer acceptance

  1. Meet all applicable conditions outlined in your course Letter of Offer.
  2. Accept your offer by paying the acceptance deposit listed on your La Trobe University and La Trobe College Australia Letter of Offer for your principal course and return your completed Offer Acceptance Form for International Students to La Trobe International, ensuring you also complete the Scholarship Details section.
  3. You must commence your course at La Trobe University and La Trobe College Australia by the date listed on your Letter of Offer to secure your scholarship.
