International student requirements

The following programs have an IELTS requirement of 7.0 (no band less than 7.0) to gain registration post-graduation and to practice in Australia:

  • Bachelor of Nursing

  • Bachelor of Applied Sciences and Master of Physiotherapy Practice

  • Bachelor of Applied Sciences and Master of Occupational Therapy Practice

  • Bachelor of Applied Sciences and Master of Podiatry (Honours)

The following program has an IELTS Requirement of 7.0 (no band less than 6.5) to gain registration post-graduation to practice in Australia:

  • Bachelor of Paramedic Practice (Honours) (Bendigo Campus only)

La Trobe University/La Trobe Melbourne agreed pathway: To be eligible for a transfer into the following programs after successful completion of the Diploma of Health Sciences students will need to either: achieve the required WAM and a minimum of 80% in the communication subject (HHLT1CHS - Communicating in Health Science) or achieve an IELTS score of 7.0 (no band less than 7.0) to demonstrate adequate English language proficiency to enter these courses.

  • Bachelor Podiatry (Honours)
  • Bachelor of Applied Sciences and Master of Physiotherapy Practice
  • Bachelor of Applied Sciences and Master of Occupational Therapy Practice

Please note that a packaged offer for any of these programs is not a guarantee of entry to 2nd year of a Bachelor + Master program. Students will need to meet the entry criteria of the WAM, the required IELTS or a minimum of 80% in the communication subjects (HHLT1CHS - Communicating in Health Science) and be successfully ranked in the quota system should there be more qualified students than the quota allows.

Students planning to aim for a Bachelor + Master specialisation should write their intended specialisation on the application form.
